MONUMENT TO DEPORTED JEWS, BLAGOEVGRAD
A memorial to 997 Jews from Aegean Thrace, who spent a night in Gorna Dzhumaya, now Blagoevgrad, before being shipped to Poland in March 1943.
The plaque is placed on the façade of a school where the deportees spent a night.
The memorial was vandalised before its official opening, in 2009.
